Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cutting off circulation in the ankles. Everything about this boot is great except the ankle zip up design. It is literally strangling my ankles so that hurt. There is no reason a boot should hurt when you have them on. Width is fine. Going to return these asap. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Innovative design does not provide enough adjustability The styling and innovative design attracted me to this shoe. Unfortunately, the innovative design does not provide enough adjustments to make the shoe fit my foot comfortably. The biggest problem is that the zipper that closes the upper over the forefoot and wraps around the ankle sets an upper limit on the height of the foot and the width of the ankle that the shoe can fit. In my case, my feet have high arches, so the only way I can close the upper over my forefoot is to remove the insole to decrease the height of my foot. Similarly, my ankles are wide enough that the top of the shoe is a bit too snug around my ankles when the zipper's pull-tab is snapped into place. Too bad Nike didn't offer any way to adjust the length of the zipper's pull-tab, because such an adjustment could allow users to customize the fit of the shoe around the ankle. Also, the design of the cuff around the ankle is awkward: the cuff bulges outward where the two ends of the cuff overlap when the zipper is closed. If your foot is small enough to fit inside the upper when it's fully-zipped, then you can tighten the shoe's internal nylon webbing by pulling on the tab at the back of the heel to lock your foot into place. To remove your foot from the shoe, you first unzip the upper, then loosen the internal webbing by releasing the locking tab on the back of the heel. Unfortunately, the friction between the webbing and the shoe is high enough that the webbing doesn't loosen on its own even after you release the locking tab: instead, you have to reach inside the upper to pull on the webbing to loosen it enough to remove your foot from the shoe, which makes the process of taking off the shoes a bit awkward. I like the way that Nike is willing to experiment with innovative designs. I think this shoe's design could have been improved by performing more field testing before the design was released to the public.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from AF-1 IS BACK I love that these are a thing again; I personally have the (Now sold out) Gray and Black combo and they are really well made, my only issue is that I've had them for a little over a month now and the "Air" on the midsole has worn off [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks and Feels great! Zipper eh... First, I want to say this shoe looks amazing and is going to look awesome on the United States athletes in the Olympics! Right out of the box you can tell this shoe has been well made. The shoe has a thick rubber sole with a nylon and rubber type mixed upper. The combination of the white USA with the red accents just scream patriotism. The shoe is not heavy like I expected and is certainly water resistant as advertised (Its raining this morning and the shoe still feels fresh and dry! The shoe rises above my ankle and gives much better support than I initially expected. The heal of the shoe is probably a little over an inch and tapers down to just below a half inch. The shoe provides a great cushion when walking. It also has what feels like a good mixture of both hard and soft rubber to give you a good combination of stability and grip. Putting your foot in the shoe is like slipping on a tight sock or dive booty. the shoe almost molds to your feet. The insole of the shoe is like a big cushion and defiantly keeps your feet warm! Now for my one drawback on the shoe. The zipper used to lace the shoe up. The zipper kind of sucks to be honest. If it just zipped straight up the front of up the side it probably wouldn't be so bad. However, it starts on the outside of your foot, goes across your foot on an angle and around your ankle. So first problem with this design is that when you put your foot in the shoe, there is the booty type insole you slip your foot into that is attached to the shoe. When you go to zipper the shoe up, that booty has a tag that you pull on to adjust your foot inside and it gets caught in the zipper. So its a little annoying tying to push down on the booty with one hand while trying to zip the shoe up with the other. Once you get past the top of your foot and have to go around the ankle it gets a little tricky. You have to almost stand and put your foot on a 90 degree angle with your leg to get the quarters to line up to zip. That is a bit annoying but its tolerable. Overall the shoe is great and I would recommend as a good all purpose shoe, especially if you are in a colder or damper climate. Also is a good shoe if you just want to sport your patriotism and the US [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
