In 2006, Manny Avila moved his family 1,100 miles on the ideal of working for a company that truly takes care of its employees. Over a decade later, Manny says that ideal still holds true. Originally a Systems Administrator at Finish Line's corporate office in Indianapolis, Manny was promoted to a Manager of Systems Administration and now works as a Consulting Engineer.

Manny appreciates how each day on the job is different and says there are always new challenges and solutions for him to develop. With the rapid evolution of technology and retail, Manny enjoys the strategic component of his work to ensure his team takes advantage of the latest innovations and concepts. Ultimately, Manny says the people and the company culture make Finish Line a great place to work.

In 1986, Barbara Hicks began her Finish Line journey in management at an Indiana store. Hicks says the blossoming business attracted her to the company and she never looked back. In addition to various Indiana locations, Hicks also traveled to work in stores in Kentucky, Ohio and Georgia. Hicks started as a Store Manager Trainer, was promoted to District Sales Manager and now holds a position in Merchandising at Finish Line's corporate office.

Hicks enjoys completing sales analysis to help identify sale opportunities in Finish Line stores. She says finding products that increase sales for lower-volume stores is one of her favorite parts of the job. Hicks is the go-to, the employee trainer and problem-solver; she says she feels valued by her coworkers.

When 19-year-old JC Marquez started as a Seasonal Store Associate position at Finish Line in 2010, he was unaware it was his first step to a full-time career in the organization. Marquez, a Puerto Rico native, was a two-sport athlete at the University of Dubuque in Iowa when he began his Finish Line journey. Marquez worked in stores in Iowa, Illinois and Puerto Rico, climbing his way to his current position as Store Manager at Finish Line in Texas.

Marquez says his passion for Finish Line comes from the investment the company and people have made in him. He is grateful for mentors, travel opportunities and the ability to be himself at work each day. Each store Marquez ran posted positive sales results and he currently enjoys developing talented employees. Many have gone from entry-level sales positions to management positions.

Olivia Smith spends each day at Finish Line expressing her creativity. As the Photo Studio Coordinator and Stylist for Finish Line Olivia wears many different hats. She organizes product and puts outfits together for special photography needs for Finish Line's social media, marketing, e-commerce, emails and store displays around the country.

At the studio, Olivia coordinates and styles all of the model photo shoots and maintains relationships with our modeling agencies. She enjoys seeing models post pictures of themselves in Finish Line or Finish Line Macy's stores and on social media and feels lucky to create new and exciting outfits to inspire our customers.
