The Air Jordan 13 was released in 1997-98, which was the last season that Jordan played for the Bulls. That season, Jordan also led the Bulls to their sixth NBA Championship title, took home his sixth ring as well as his sixth Final MVP honor.
The Air Jordan Retro 13 features a full grain quilted leather upper along with a suede trim and hidden lacing system. A low-profile Pylon midsole with heel and forefoot Zoom Air units add cushion, a midfoot carbon fiber composite plate offer padding and comfort. The outsole is solid rubber with herringbone pods and Optimal Motion pattern. The Air Jordan 13 was the first and only Jordan shoes to feature a signature hologram on the ankle. Inspired by a panther's reflective eye, Jordan's nickname amongst fellow NBA players was "Black Cat" for his cat-like reflexes and speed down the court. The outsole pads resemble a paw and circles represent whiskers.
