Breaking records is something Michael Jordan does very well and the Jordan 13 was his shoe of choice when he broke the NBA record for most games scoring double digit points, a feat previously held by Kareem Abdul Jabar. That same year Jordan took is team to the NBA title game as well earned MVP honors for his role in their championship.
Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Jordan 13 is influenced by a panther. Michael was sometimes called "black cat" by his NBA peers, because of his catlike reflexes and speed. As the only Jordan to have a hologram, the ankle is inspired by the eyes of a panther. Additionally, The Air Jordan Retro 13 features a full grain quilted leather upper along with a suede trip and hidden lacing system. A low-profile Pylon midsole with heel and forefoot Zoom Air units adds cushion, a midfoot carbon fiber composite plate offer padding and comfort. The outsole is solid rubber with herringbone pods and Optimal Motion pattern. The outsole pads resemble a paw and circles represent whiskers.
