Inspired by Zen simplicity, the Nike Roshe Run is aptly named after the title of a Zen master, or Roshi. Introduced in 2011 by rookie Nike designer, Dylan Raasch, and Nike Sportswear, this sneaker bridged the gap between running and casual wear. Rooted in a essential minimalism, this style sports quarter support, heel support, and some cushioning. Raasch made the outsole resemble garden stepping stones, the insole look like a freshly raked Zen rock garden, and topped with enough versatility to rock with or without socks. The newly named Roshe One is a simple shoe that is not simplistic by any means.
