How is sales tax calculated?
Talking taxes can be a touchy subject but rest easy knowing that Finish Line follows all state and local laws and regulations pertaining to sales tax. We charge applicable sales tax on all merchandise purchased in states where we have stores.
Just a heads up, some states require us to collect sales tax on the shipping charges as well. In those states, sales tax will be calculated on the purchase price of the merchandise plus the shipping charges.

What forms of payment do you accept online?
Unfortunately, brownie points, monopoly money, and good deeds are not yet recognized as a valid form of payment. Fortunately, Finish Line currently accepts debit cards, all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover card), PayPal, Bill Me Later, and Finish Line gift cards as forms of online payment.
Customers can use Finish Line gift cards online. Please enter the Gift Card number on the billing information page along with the pin number located on the back of the card (you may need to scratch off for the pin, so it's kind of like a lottery where you're guaranteed to win something). After you apply the gift card to your Order Total, you may enter your credit card information to pay the remainder of the balance.
If the Gift Card covers the Order Total amount, it is not necessary to enter your credit card information and you may proceed to the next step (lucky you!). If you have a Gift Card that does not have a pin number on the back please call 888-777-3949 for assistance.
What if I do not have a credit card?
Finish Line will accept purchases made with a debit card as long as it has the Visa or Master Card logos. Other payment options include using PayPal or Bill Me Later. However, if none of these options apply, please visit one of our stores to pay with cash, check or money order.
When is my credit card charged?
Rest easy, you are not charged for your purchase until your order starts the journey towards your front door.
When an order is first placed with Finish Line, we contact your card’s issuing back to confirm that your credit card has a valid number and has not been reported as lost or stolen. This communication is done by completing an authorization for the full amount of the order. When the authorization is done, this will place a pending hold on the account for the amount of the order. Once your order has shipped, your card will be charged.
So that means sometimes we impress ourselves and ship out your order before the pending hold goes away. And suddenly you've got a charge on your account on top of this pending hold. Don't panic! Just contact your bank to confirm that one of those is a reserve of funds and ask them how long it usually takes for these pending holds to go away. It can vary from bank to bank but if you request that they verify and then remove any extra authorizations to free up funds, they're usually pretty accomodating (like us). Seriously, come on, we would never just take your hard-earned money.
What if my gift card does not have a PIN number?
If you have a Gift Card that does not have a PIN number on the back, please call Customer Care at 888-777-3949 for assistance. We know it's pesky like when you have an assembly-required project that's missing a piece. No worries though, Customer Care has that nail you need.
