What is Finish Line’s return policy?

We want to thank you for shopping at Finish Line and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are unsure about your purchase, please do not wear the item(s). Merchandise may be returned under the guidelines on this page (below).

How do I return a purchase?

You may return a purchase to a store or by mail, according to the guidelines for each method stated below. After 45 days, items may not be returned for any reason.

Can I make a return at a store?

If you decide to make a return to a Finish Line retail store, you must bring the following items with you:

  1. Your original packing slip.
  2. The credit card used for the original purchase. Orders placed using Debit Cards, PayPal or Bill Me Later will be refunded for cash.
  3. Footwear items must be returned in their original box and apparel items must have the tags unless problems in manufacturing exist.

You will also be required to present a valid photo ID* that will be recorded at the time of the return. Information from your ID will be retained in a company-wide database of customer return activity that Finish Line and its affiliates use to authorize in-store returns. We reserve the right to limit returns or exchanges in our stores regardless of receipt or packing slip.

*Acceptable forms of ID: U.S. or Canadian Driver's License, U.S. State ID, Canadian Province ID, U.S. Military ID, Mexican Voter Registration Card, or Passport.

When an item purchased through the Finish Line Winners Circle program is returned to a Finish Line store, for whatever reason, any dollar credits that were earned from the purchase of that item will be deducted from that member's Finish Line Winners Circle account.

After 45 days, items may not be returned for any reason.

How do I return an item by mail?

  1. Upon receipt of your order, please examine it carefully. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the order, call our Customer Care Center at:

  2. Explain the problem to the customer care representative, and they will give you a return authorization number to write on your packing slip so that you may return the item. Returns will not be accepted without prior authorization.
  3. All products must be returned in new condition. Footwear items must be returned in their original box and apparel items must have the tags unless problems in manufacturing exist. Items purchased from a Finish Line store (not online) cannot be returned to Finish Line Online.
  4. Finish Line Online advises that when shipping product back, customers should choose the same shipper that delivered the product, as well as insure the item for full value should anything happen during shipping. Finish Line is not responsible for returned product in transit.
  5. Upon receipt of your order at our warehouse, providing everything is correct, we will credit the original purchase. An email confirmation notifying you of the credit will be sent to the email address provided on your order. Allow up to two billing cycles for the credit to appear on your statement. Orders returned for credit that were purchased with a Gift Card will be refunded with another Gift Card mailed to the billing address.

We do not offer exchanges for items returned in the mail at this time. If any item is returned via mail and meets the pre-defined return criteria, the necessary credit will be applied to the customer's account. If you would like to exchange your online purchase, please stop by any of our stores nationwide. Shipping charges will be refunded only if we have sent the wrong item or the item is defective.

Can I return merchandise that has been worn?

Whether or not you have the packing slip, normal wear and tear is not warranted on any merchandise. Exchanges on worn merchandise will only be made when the damage is caused by a manufacturer 's defect. Items cut or sliced by sharp objects cannot be exchanged. After 45 days, items may not be returned for any reason.
