Beginning in 1920 with Rudolf Dassler and his brother Adolf start making sports shoes. Foundation of Februder Dassler Schuhfabrik, Herzogenaurach, Germany was established in 1924.
Dassler shoes were worn by Jesse Owens in the 1936 Olympics where he won 4 gold medals.
In 1948 PUMA was founded with the introduction of the first PUMA football shoe.
